The practice of yoga is a transformational process. We embark on this process to change our lives, to change something about ourselves. We all want to be better people in the world, to feel better physically, emotionally, and spiritually. We involve ourselves in the practice of yoga to be these better people, to transform our regular selves into our super selves, with all the abundance life has to offer.
This process does not happen overnight or even after one practice. It takes sustained determined effort to truly transform into the beautiful butterflies that lie dormant within. It is so easy to put the process off with the mundane, laundry, chores, grocery shopping. It is so easy to give up on ourselves, thinking tomorrow will be a better day to start, tomorrow we will have more time, more energy. Well of course this is where I say the age old cliché … “tomorrow never comes”.
And now I start Yoga Talk: start where you are, keep up and you will be kept up, the present is a gift from god, you are perfect just the way you are, rise from your roots and fly!
Do yourself a favor and practice yoga right now:
Say something kind to the person standing next to you
Find one thing to be thankful for
Call your mother
Laugh at yourself
Take a deep breath
Chew slowly
Start your process today and let the butterflies soar.
